Bali Holiday Packages

Bali has a way of pulling you back in even before you've left it - rice terraces catching the morning light, a beach shack serving grilled fish at sunset, a temple procession you stumble into by accident. For Indian travellers it's also refreshingly uncomplicated to plan: a short-ish flight, visa on arrival, and a package that can flex anywhere from a backpacker's guesthouse to a private villa with its own infinity pool.

Most people land in Bali for the mix it offers in a single trip. Ubud gives you rice terraces, art markets and a slower, greener pace; Seminyak and Canggu bring the beach clubs, surf breaks and cafe culture; Uluwatu has the cliffside temples and sunset views everyone photographs; and a day trip out to Nusa Penida or the Gili islands adds the turquoise-water postcard shots. It works equally well for a honeymoon, a girls' trip, or a family holiday with young kids, which is part of why it shows up on so many Indian travellers' shortlists.

The dry season, roughly April to October, is when most people prefer to go - less humidity, more reliable sunshine, and calmer seas for island hopping. July and August are peak season with the biggest crowds and highest prices, so late April, May, June or September often give you a better weather-to-cost ratio. December to March is Bali's wetter season; it's not a washout, showers tend to be short and the island still functions normally, but pack for rain and expect some flight and ferry delays during heavier spells. One date worth knowing in advance: Nyepi, the Balinese New Year (usually in March), is a day of complete silence across the island - no flights in or out, shops shut, and tourists are asked to stay off the streets - so check the calendar before booking those travel dates.

There are no direct flights between India and Bali, so you'll connect through a hub like Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Jakarta or occasionally Bangkok, with total journey time usually landing somewhere between 8 and 11 hours depending on the layover. Indians can get a visa on arrival for short tourist stays, and it's increasingly common to pay for it online in advance (as an e-VOA) to skip the airport queue; it's typically valid for around 30 days and can be extended once at a local immigration office if you want to stay longer.

A standard Bali package usually bundles return flights, hotel or villa stay, airport transfers, and a couple of guided day tours - an Ubud/Kintamani circuit and a Nusa Penida or Uluwatu sunset trip are the common ones. For a mid-range 5-night, 6-day trip, a couple can expect to budget somewhere in the range of ₹55,000 to ₹95,000 per person including flights, depending on season and hotel category; private pool villas and five-star resorts push that noticeably higher. Always check what's actually included in a quoted package price - meals beyond breakfast, entry tickets, and water-sports activities are frequently extra, and comparing that fine print across agencies is where you'll spot the real price differences.

A couple of things first-timers often don't expect: Bali's traffic, especially around Seminyak, Canggu and Kuta, can be genuinely slow, so factor that into how many places you try to cram into a day, and only rent a scooter if you're confident riding in chaotic traffic (helmets are mandatory and checks do happen). Tap water isn't safe to drink, so stick to bottled or filtered water even for brushing your teeth. Temples require a sarong and sash at minimum, usually available to rent or borrow at the entrance, and shoulders should be covered. A local SIM card at the airport is cheap and makes navigating, booking Gojek or Grab rides, and staying connected far easier than relying on hotel Wi-Fi alone.

Frequently asked questions

Do Indians need a visa for Bali, or is it visa-on-arrival?

Indians can get a visa on arrival for short tourist visits, and it's now common to pre-pay for it online (e-VOA) before you fly to avoid the airport queue. It's typically valid for around 30 days and can be extended once locally if needed.

What's the best time to visit Bali for good weather and lower prices?

The dry season from April to October generally has the best weather, with May, June and September offering a good balance of pleasant conditions and lower crowds than the July-August peak. December to March is wetter but still very visitable if you don't mind occasional showers.

How much should a Bali package for a couple typically cost?

A mid-range 5-night package including flights, hotel and basic transfers usually falls somewhere between ₹55,000 and ₹95,000 per person, depending on season and hotel category. Villas with private pools or five-star resorts will cost noticeably more.

Is Bali a good destination for families with young children?

Yes, Bali works well for families - many resorts have kid-friendly pools and activities, and attractions like Waterbom water park, Bali Safari Park and the monkey forests are genuinely enjoyable for children. Just build in buffer time for traffic between activities.

What does a typical Bali holiday package include?

Most packages cover return flights, hotel or villa accommodation, airport transfers, and one or two guided day tours such as Ubud sightseeing or a Nusa Penida trip. Meals beyond breakfast, entry tickets and water-sports activities are usually extra, so it's worth comparing inclusions across agencies before booking.
